Neil M Hanson is a cycling enthusiast who loves to write, so most of his work involves cycling in one way or another.

He’s written a number of articles on bicycle touring, specifically focused on the concept of ultralight bicycle touring. This is a concept he’s familiar with, having ridden his bike from coast to coast across America, unsupported, carrying only 8# of gear. His books about that ride – Pilgrim Wheels and Pilgrim Spokes – are reflective books written in a way that not only pulls the reader along on the journey, but also opens an internal dialogue with the reader that sparks thoughtful reflection that reaches far beyond the turning of bicycle wheels.

He likes to think of his work as that of crafting words that take readers along on a journey. exploring places in the world and places in the mind.

Neil is an award winning author, photographer, adventurer, listener, learner. A general outdoor junkie looking for the little nuggets of goodness hidden in the steep climbs.
